Allegress: Ambitious Boy、 is a nice looking doujin game created by ”Hashimo”. The interesting thing about this game is that if you haven’t noticed、 it is not made using the tsukuru engine. The game seems to be made from the ground up. This is version 0.91...which means the game is very close to completion. The only noticable thing missing is the story mode. This shouldn’t bother you if you used to play Hinokakera or Dragon Blast、 which didn’t get story additions until some time later in their life cycle.
Otherwise、 the game has 10 characters (8 normally、 2 hidden) and five stages. As is、 the game has a functional and interesting fighting engine consisting of cancels、 attack interruptions、 and other conventional fighting mechanics.
Some things I would like to see more of? A couple of extra characters would be awesome...a few new stages would definitely help too. More air combo potential would also be nice. Still、 considering that one person did the game (or at the least、 a very small staff)、 it’s an excellent job. Some may argue that its no Vanguard Princess、 but the creator did a fine job nonetheless.
